Welcome

The MidState Miata Club of New York is an organization dedicated to the enjoyment of the Mazda Miata roadster.  Our primary objectives are to provide an opportunity for Mazda Miata owners and enthusiasts to exchange ideas and information, as well as to participate in group events involving the Miata. 

The Club schedules at least one "official" event each month from April through November.  These local events are selected from ideas and suggestions presented by the membership during the annual planning meeting that occurs each winter.  We schedule events to interesting points in New York State as well as occasionally organize overnight trips to more distant locations.  The Club also schedules informal evening gatherings for ice cream every two weeks during the warmer months.  There are also frequent impromptu get-togethers among members, if for no other reason than to have someone to share the road with.

Changes on how to respond for event attendance

To help streamline communication for who is attending our events we now require members to contact the Event Coordinator directly AND copy your Area Rep to help them plan for caravans from your area. 

You only need to respond if you are planning to attend, but if you need to cancel last minute you still need to let both parties know so they don't hold up the ride waiting for you. Please pay close attention to the contact info and deadlines.

From Our President

Welcome back to another year of hoping we’ll get some great driving events on our calendars.  I’m much more optimistic that we will be successful in putting together a schedule that will allow us to get back to the roads and seeing our friends again.   I expect we will need to change some of our expectations to enable us to be safe and comfortable.  Perhaps we’ll need to do more ‘local’ events to stay within an hour or hour and a half time to accommodate bathroom needs and/or eating venues.  Or to plan to do more of our events in outdoor locations or who knows yet??? To that end I have scheduled a VIRTUAL Zoom meeting for March 6th which you will find below noted in Blue.  This tool is quite simple to use and once you have Zoom set up on your computer you only need to have click on the link in the invitation.  I am including the Zoom meeting cheat sheet with this newsletter so you can follow the instructions to get set up.  I hope you will join us and I encourage you to submit and idea or 2 for consideration.  They can be new ideas or ‘pearls from the past’. Prior to the Planning meeting there will be a Board meeting on March 1st.
